Schedule

What kids do at camp

Each 2½-hour session is packed with hands-on building challenges, creative free-build time, and real STEAM skills — troubleshooting technical build problems, learning building vocabulary and principles, and building confidence one brick at a time. Every camper creates their own custom minifigure avatar at the start of camp and builds it into their creations all week long. Great for kids who love building, want to make new friends, and are excited to dive into a new theme each session.

Camp Session Enrollment Policy

Camp sessions are subject to cancellation based on enrollment. If a session does not meet minimum enrollment requirements one week prior to the start date, we reserve the right to cancel the session. In the event of a cancellation, participants will have the option to transfer to another available session or receive a full refund.

Camp Session registrants agree to be automatically enrolled in our Store Loyalty program upon submission of registration. You can opt out at any time by unsubscribing via message or by contacting us directly.

Express Full Day Option

We are adding an express Fully Day option for parents who are looking for all-day camp options. Drop your child off at 8:30 am and pick them up at 5 pm. We handle lunch, and automatically enroll them in all sessions each day.

Express Details: Choose any single day and we will automatically enroll you in all sessions and all brick bricks for that day. Includes two brick-break sessions per day, with pizza during the afternoon session. Cost = $200 per day / $15 gift card per day

Did you know? Camps are ESA eligible

Our STEAM LEGO® Camps qualify for Arizona Empowerment Scholarship Account (ESA) funding. We provide the ESA Tutor/Teaching Services Facility Accreditation Attestation Form and a parent curriculum letter for each session.

Download the Arizona Department of Education Empowerment Scholarship Account (ESA) Tutor/Teaching Services Facility Accreditation Attestation Form here.

Note: we don't currently accept ESA cards directly at checkout — most ESA families pay upfront and are successfully reimbursed.

Skill Level Explanations:

If your child:

✔️ Is new to LEGO® or still learning to follow build steps → Basic
✔️ Can build basic sets and loves making their own creations → Intermediate
✔️ Breezes through LEGO® sets and wants harder challenges → Advanced

LEVEL 1-Basic (Recommended Ages 4–9)

Basic sessions are designed for campers who are just beginning their building journey. No previous experience building with LEGO® bricks is required. Campers should be able to use the restroom independently, listen to and follow directions, and have the attention span to participate in a 2½-hour guided building session.

Projects focus on learning foundational building skills, following simple instructions, gaining confidence through successful builds, troubleshooting simple challenges, and encouraging creativity through fun, hands-on activities.

Basic sessions are best for campers who:

  • Are new to building with LEGO® bricks
  • Enjoy simple, guided projects
  • Are learning foundational building techniques
  • Benefit from extra guidance and encouragement
  • Want to build confidence while having fun
LEVEL 2-Intermediate (Recommended Ages 7–12)**

Intermediate sessions are designed for campers who can work independently, follow multi-step instructions, and solve building challenges with minimal assistance. Campers will build more detailed projects while strengthening creativity, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.

Projects introduce more advanced building techniques and encourage campers to think creatively while completing increasingly complex builds.

Intermediate sessions are best for campers who:

  • Can build independently
  • Follow instructions with minimal assistance
  • Enjoy more detailed models
  • Like solving building challenges on their own
  • Are ready for a greater level of creativity and complexity
LEVEL 3-Advanced (Recommended Ages 8–13)**

Advanced sessions are designed for experienced builders who are ready for our most challenging camp experience. This is our highest skill level and is ideal for campers who build confidently and enjoy tackling advanced engineering-inspired projects.

Campers will explore advanced building techniques while working with Technic elements, gears, motors, and mechanical systems. Projects emphasize engineering, innovation, creativity, and real-world problem-solving through increasingly sophisticated builds.

Advanced sessions are best for campers who:

  • Build confidently without assistance
  • Enjoy advanced building challenges
  • Have experience with—or want to learn—Technic pieces, gears, motors, and mechanical systems
  • Like designing, engineering, and creating complex models
  • Enjoy solving difficult building and engineering challenges

**Prerequisites:

  • Intermediate sessions require completion of a Basic session or equivalent at-home building experience consistent with the skills described above.
  • Advanced sessions require completion of an Intermediate session or equivalent at-home building experience consistent with the skills described above.

Frequently Asked Questions:

When do you offer camps?

During school breaks—spring, fall, winter—and multiple weeks throughout summer. Current dates/themes are online; follow social media/email for announcements.

What ages and skill levels?

Typically ages 4–13, with three skill levels. Camps range from first-time builders to experienced campers ready for advanced techniques.

What do campers do?

Theme-based hands-on building with creative challenges, engineering concepts, problem-solving, troubleshooting and vocabulary. Multi-day camps often use a story arc culminating in a larger final challenge. Each camper creates and keeps a custom minifigure avatar.

What is included?

Camp building materials stay at JBB, but campers keep their custom minifigure and receive a store gift card. Parents may arrive early to photograph builds.

Are camps ESA eligible?

Yes. We provide the ESA attestation form and a parent curriculum letter for each session. We do not currently accept direct ESA card payments, but many regular ESA families pay and successfully seek reimbursement.

What is Brick Break?

An optional paid supervised break for campers attending two or more sessions on the same day. It includes time for food/restroom/light free play and, when appropriate, a supervised outdoor walk. Selected Brick Breaks may offer pizza for an additional fee.

Do you provide food/drinks?

Regular sessions do not provide snacks or bottled water. Campers may bring their own snack/water. For multiple sessions, pack lunch or review Brick Break lunch options.

How long are sessions?

Usually 2½ hours per day. A themed session may run 1–5 days. Drop-in/per-day registration may be available when space permits.

How large are groups?

Usually 5–10 campers, typically max around 12, with a target ratio of about 5–6 campers per instructor.

Do parents have to leave?

No. Most drop off, but parents may observe. Space is limited. Instructors are certified Arizona teachers with youth/classroom experience.

Can you accommodate special needs?

We do our best to provide reasonable accommodations within the normal camp setting when they do not significantly disrupt other campers. We cannot provide one-on-one, close individualized or medical supervision. Contact us before registering to discuss fit.

What should campers bring/wear?

Bring a refillable water bottle and optional snack; lunch if staying for multiple sessions unless using Brick Break options. Leave personal toys/bricks/minifigures at home. Comfortable clothing/shoes are fine; if shoes come off, socks are required.

Can friends attend together?

Yes, subject to first-come availability. Register around the same time and note the friend request; we’ll accommodate when possible.

Are camps religious?

No. Camps are non-denominational and intended to be welcoming regardless of religious or political affiliation.

How much do camps cost?

Pricing varies by session length/days/add-ons and is shown during registration. Occasional multi-session or early-registration promotions may be offered.

How do I register / what if full?

Online registration is recommended; in-store/walk-in registration may be accommodated when space exists. Full sessions may have a waitlist; families can reserve another session while remaining waitlisted for their preferred one.

What is the cancellation policy?

Cancellation/refund/credit terms are provided during registration and should be reviewed before payment.
